VLeBooks is an eBook platform from Browns Books.
There are two ways to read a book on VLe:
- Read Online – read in the vlereader in a web browser without having to “borrow” the book, no additional software or plug-ins are needed. The online reader will timeout after 2 hours of inactive use. JavaScript must be enabled within the browser, but Flash is not required.
- Download – “borrow” the book for one (1) day and download to your PC, laptop, Mac, Apple or Android device. A “borrowed” ebook 'expires' so it cannot be read after the expiry date. Please note: To download a book you need a device that is compatible with Adobe DRM since the books are in .acsm-format. You can download an ebook to multiple devices, but each device must have suitable software and the same Adobe registered id. You can also download the book to the VLe app (free) and read offline.

The licensed databases may only be used for personal and scientific use, as well as for research and educational purposes. It is strictly forbidden to change, rewrite, systematically copy, redistribute, sell, publish or in any way use the material in commercial purposes.
