Physical Review Focus

Physical Review Focus

Physical Review Focus is a website of the American Physical Society. Focus stories explain selected physics research published in the APS journals Physical Review and Physical Review Letters (PRL). The Focus home page also provides links to Physics News Update stories from the American Institute of Physics when they cover papers from APS journals.

The main goal of the service is to communicate current research beyond the bounds of a physics sub-discipline and the selection criteria for Focus differ from those of a research journal. Papers will often be chosen based on educational value and intrinsic interest to non-specialists, rather than simply on scientific merit. Research that is well-covered by other sources may also be passed over in favor of less-publicized work.
